Well... a very deserved break from the difficulties of predicting college football was Week 3 in the CFCC. The average jumped to a more respectful 70 points with a smattering of 14-1 records,
and numerous 13-2 and 12-3 records. First prize this week was shared by Jared Lee of Broomfield CO and Scott Kahn from the twin Long Island hamlets of East Northport and North Eastport (yes, I
made you look). Each scored 108 points on 13-2 records. The overall standings following the first 3 weeks of CFCC also have shared leadership. Matt Rendall of Mishawaka IN and Mack Morris of New Braunfels
TX each have 272 points, averaging just over 90 points per week. Matt and Mack are followed closely by Courtney Carpenter and Chris Darden. And last, Snoop's Clean Canines continue to hold their
lead in Group play, just ahead of BoomerBacks and HailRaisers.
Not to forget PFCC which is through its second week of games. Our overall leader is Paul Witsamen of Forth Worth TX, followed by Trevor Boucher and Danielle Knittle. The Week 2 winner was Scott
Carpenter of Salt Lake City UT with a stellar 9-6 record and 42 points. What's the difference between CFCC and PFCC you ask ? Parity !! While the Week 3 CFCC scoring average was 70, the Week 2 PFCC
scoring average was -19. In fact, in the pro contest this week you could score zero and still climb 78 points in the standings (Martha Hilgeman). Ouch !!
So thats it for the latest Dirt-Dawg summary. For Week 4 CFCC, you won't have Florida State to kick you around anymore. We are starting to have a few conference games going foward which usually makes
for more challenging picking. This week Utah at Oklahoma State and Tennessee at Oklahoma look to be the big games. In the PFCC, the usual tight slate is in place with about 5 home underdogs tempting
your allegiance, along with about half the games with point spreads 3 or less. Good luck to all.

Longhorns Dominate Defending Champs in Ann Arbor

Two dirty-dawg CFCC weeks are in the books and the upset train continued in Week 2 with several point spread upsets cratering the Week 2 average score to an embarrasing 49 points.
One upset that wasn't was the Texas Longhorns invading The Big House and dominating the defending champion Michigan Wolverines. We don't know how good Michigan is this year, but it is
possible that Texas may be very good and could easily make another National Championship run. Later in the day, Syracuse beat Pitt, Iowa State hit a monster final gun field goal to
take down Iowa, Cal made a long trip to spank Auburn and South Carolina cruised past Kentucky. There were several other pucker factor games as well as South Florida was within a
field goal of Nick Sabanless Alabama late and Oklahoma could only muster a safety after halftime to squeak past Houston. Oregon and Arizona State had close games in the nightcaps.
Despite most players struggles, Matt Rendall of Mishawaka, Indiana cruised through the week with 92 points on a 13-2 mark. Like a lot of players, he lost big on Auburn (13) but only
had 1 on Kansas. Nice job Matt. And he also leads the contest overall. Josh Boustead was Week 2 runner-up with 86 points on 13 wins (Auburn and Kentucky losses) and Seth Warthen from
Salt Lake City, UT finished 3rd with 82 points. On the overall scoreboard, we find last weeks winner, Mack Morris, in 2nd place just 4 points behind Matt Rendall. Third place is held
by Courtney Carpenter from Roseville, CA, 26 points off the leading pace.
On the Group Play front, Snoop's Clean Canines, presented by WFO EWX has the lead with an average player score of 108.0. Perennial group powerhouse, Boomerbacks, are just 7 points behind
with Stop, Hamilltime is tied with Water Wizards for third place. Scurvy Dawgs is in 5th place after 2 weeks.
Week 3 is on deck with several interesting match-ups on the dirty-dawg docket. Alabama invades the north with a tilt at Wisconsin. We have some MACtion with Central Michigan at
Illinois and Cincinnati at Miami (the other one). It is also PAC-2 rivalry weekend with Oregon at Oregon State and Washington State at Washington. The Week 3 game form closes at the

2024 CFCC Week 1 Starts a New Era

Yes. Its a new era of college football and we welcome the changes. More teams in the college football playoff; better and more frequent intersectional rivalries; and a season that now
lasts until late January are a few of the meaningless benefits on the minds of -- well, football morons and pundits. But not here at Dirty-Dawg.com. What's great is we're now seeing QR
codes on helmets. By the Michigan game in late November, we will be seeing Ohio State replace all Buckeye helmet stickers with QR codes. The more stickers you have the more each Buckeye
gets paid. What's great is that we now have helmet to sideline communication to increase the chances of playcall stealing before and during games. Connor Stalions has been replaced. By me !
A simple hack and I listened to the entirety of the Texas-Colorado State playcall last Saturday via bluetooth, my couch, and a speaker shaped like a Michigan winged-helmet. And for those
asking, take Michigan plus the points and also take the Under this Saturday. Unfortunately, I'm hearing some sharp Texas Tech grads have figured out how to bypass this hack by hardwiring
comms between the quarterback and the head coach. Bastards! What's great is the new and long-overdue two minute warning in college football. They are not calling it that though, instead
copying US Open Tennis and calling it a bathroom break where the losing team gets a shower, uniform change, and a mental reset to mount a furious comeback. These changes are clearly for the
better and, as always, we at Dirty-Dawg.com are happy to provide real perspective on events in the sporting world.
Back to the CFCC for a week 1 summary ! We apologize for the brief IT outages to start the season, but that's what happens when you try to sell your business to Direct TV. Those hacks
tried to change the code, screwed it up, and asked for their money back. So the Dirty-Dawg.com Board of Directors are back in charge, albeit 5 dollars poorer each. But, most importantly,
the code is working again. Just in time to announce Mack Morris of New Braunfels TX won week 1 with 100 points and a 12-3 record. Mack was followed by Darren Scherer of Strafford MO, also
with a 12-3 record, but only good for 88 points. The week was a bit tougher than a normal week 1, as the last 4 games on the game form were almost non-survivable with solid favorites going down
to defeat. In Group Play, Water Wizards (apparently a group of Hydologists from Sacramento ?) start the season in first place. Right behind are Snoop's Clean Canines presented by WFO EWX
(apparently a group of non-hydrologists from the non-city of New Braunfels ?) -- who also won this years award for the best Group name. Congratulations to all.
Also congratulations to BJ Ellis and Phil Stiegman for recognizing they have no skill in a confidence contest, even before the first games were played !! Both set their confidence level
top to bottom consecutively 1 through 15, a strategy that was good for last place (363rd) and third from last (361st). As far as we know, this oddity is a first for Dirty-Dawg CFCC.
